To fellow Christians and our brothers and sisters of all faiths and all people of conscience, we are organizing a peaceful and prayerful presence out front of the annual National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, February 2. We stand in unity with immigrants and refugees and against a #MuslimBan in our name or faith.
Organizers have started this gathering outside the National Prayer Breakfast as we believe that our faith commands us to care for the widow, orphan and refugee. We believe we are called to love our neighbor-- all our neighbors. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends of all faiths and all those of conscience and concern.
Additional details to be posted and we hope you will be part of this peaceful and humble show of solidarity. Please share widely-- all are welcome. Please message if your faith community or organization would like to be part of this moment together. We welcome you.
"Long ago I gave these commands to my people: ‘You must see that justice is done, and must show kindness and mercy to one another. Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners who live among you, or anyone else in need.'” Zechariah 7:9
