After last year's wildly successful protest on a bitterly cold night, we're BACK with the 2019 edition of the State of the Union motorcade protest!
Don't miss out on this opportunity to exercise your First Amendment rights as the Vice President and President's motorcades come by on their way to the Capitol on Tuesday, January 29th starting at 8 p.m.
Check out the photos and videos from last year - we had more than 200 people at each location and were right on the route as the motorcades rolled by -- it was awesome.
Because of the high security expected for the SOTU, we've consulted with the U.S. Capitol Police to determine the absolute closest location pedestrians/protestors will be allowed. The best way to make sure the TWO motorcade routes are covered is to gather at EITHER ONE of these two locations: the corner of 3rd Street NW at Independence OR 3rd Street NW at Constitution -- see the map above!
So choose which corner you want and arrive at 8 p.m.! We anticipate a steady stream of arrivals of the Vice President, cabinet members, etc to come by throughout the 8 o'clock hour using both routes with the President's motorcade sometime around 8:40 p.m.!
Here's how to get involved:
• SHARE this event to your timeline to spread the word
• Make a sign to bring -- high visibility, flashlights, etc are great!
• Dress warm!
