Please join M4TR and members of the Northern Virginia Climate Coalition for the 3rd Annual Mother's Day Climate Rally to advocate for a Green New Deal. "Revolution rock" band M4TR is happy to support this important event for the second year by providing live music entertainment. We'll be playing original music and covers to help motivate people to action.

The Green New Deal is an ambitious comprehensive climate proposal circulating through the halls of the U.S. Congress to transform the American economy in order to embrace renewable energy technologies, provide next generation green jobs and empower frontline communities impacted by climate change.

The Green New Deal is being spearheaded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Edward Markey and has been endorsed by dozens of Congresspersons and Senators including 2020 presidential candidates Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders. Youth-led climate activist group, Sunrise Movement, is planning a series of events in the presidential election cycle to make climate action and justice a key issue in the 2020 election.

At the Virginia state level, the Green New Deal VA coalition mirrors the national effort. Dels. Sam Rasoul and Elizabeth Guzman have partnered with the Sunrise Movement, NAACP-VSC, Sierra Club-VC, Virginia Organizing, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Food & Water Watch, Climate Reality Project NoVa, Our Revolution, 350 Loudon, 350 Fairfax, Sunrise Movement and a host of intersectional organizations to introduce Green New Deal Virginia - a series of proposals to transform Virginia's economy.
